Good for documenting processes

I've been using Whale's Process Documentation Tool for a few months now, mostly on the annual plan. It's really helped centralize our internal guides. The AI Writing Assistant is decent for getting a draft going, though it sometimes needs heavy editing to match our tone. What's good is that it integrates with some of our other apps, which saves time. The interface is clean, but I wish the search function was a little more robust; sometimes it takes a bit to find what I'm looking for quickly. Overall, it's a solid tool for the price, definitely an upgrade from our old system.

Consistent knowledge management

This isn't my first time with Whale. We started with the Employee Onboarding Software a while back and eventually moved to the full Knowledge Management System. What I appreciate is how consistent it's been. Every update seems to add value without breaking anything crucial. This time, I needed to set up some new Training Flows for a project, and it was just as reliable as before. The content verification feature gives me peace of mind that our SOPs stay current, which is huge for us. Their support has always been responsive too, which is a big reason why we keep coming back instead of checking out competitors like Trainual.

Easy to get started

Just signed up for the 14-day free trial to check out the AI SOP Software. It was pretty straightforward, no credit card needed which was nice. Played around with it a bit, and it seems like it could really help my team out. Gonna dig in more over the next week or so.

Looking for a Whale promo code or discount, planning to sign up for the Business plan soon.

R RohanB 5 days ago
Check out if your company qualifies for a startup discount, they offer those sometimes. Or non-profit discounts if that applies.

S SanjayK 5 days ago
Good point, I'll look into the startup one. Thanks!

I heard about some Black Friday deals last year, might be worth waiting for seasonal sales if you're not in a huge hurry.

S SanjayK 5 days ago
That's a few months away though, I need it sooner.

I got a pretty good discount by going with annual billing instead of monthly. Worth asking their sales team about it, sometimes they have unadvertised deals.

Did you just email support or was there a specific contact?

I used the chat on their website. Got connected to sales pretty quick.

Whale vs Trainual for employee onboarding? Any thoughts?

S SaraKhan 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
I switched from Trainual to Whale. Whale's AI SOP generator is a huge time saver for me.

S SaraKhan 2 weeks ago
It's surprisingly decent. Gives you a good starting point.

How good is the AI part really?

Trainual felt a bit clunky for us. Whale's interface is cleaner.

D DeepakGupta 2 weeks ago
That's important for new hires.

Trainual has been fine for us, never tried Whale though. Is it that much better?

I think so, especially for process capture.

Thinking of getting Whale for SOPs, is the Growth plan enough for a small team?

R RahulPatel 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
The Growth plan is pretty good for small businesses. We use it for like 15 people and it covers most things.

P PriyaSharma 1 month ago
Does it have the video recorder thing?

R RahulPatel 1 month ago
Yeah, the video to SOP is on Growth.

Depends how many SOPs you plan to make and how complex. Business plan gives you more stuff like role-based training.

P PriyaSharma 1 month ago
Good point. We have a lot of different roles.

Finally made the jump to Whale for our SOPs, hoping it's better than our old system.

Following this, we're evaluating options too. Curious about the cost after the free trial.

They usually have an annual discount, makes it a bit more palatable.

D DeepakG 3 weeks ago
We've been using it for about a year. The initial setup was a bit much, getting all our existing docs migrated, but the team training flows are a huge help for onboarding.

D DeepakG 3 weeks ago
Yeah, the Slack integration is pretty good for quick notifications about updates. Teams is there too, but we mainly use Slack.

P PriyaS 3 weeks ago
Was it easy to integrate with anything else you use? Like Slack or Teams?

A AmitM 3 weeks ago
Good luck! We switched about 6 months ago from Trainual and it's been mostly positive. The AI generator is pretty neat for getting a first draft done quickly.

It's decent, not perfect for super complex stuff but saves a ton of time for basic process walkthroughs. Just gotta refine a bit.

How's the video-to-SOP feature? That's one thing I'm really keen on.

Is Whale actually better than something like Trainual or Scribe? Or is it all pretty much the same thing?

M Mark S. 1 month ago
I've used both Trainual and Whale. Whale's AI stuff for generating SOPs is pretty slick, saves a lot of time compared to just typing everything out. Trainual felt a bit more manual to me.
4
S Steve 1 month ago
Hard to say "better" as it depends on what you need. Whale does a good job with video recording and turning that into steps. I heard Scribe is good for quick visual guides. Whale has more robust knowledge base features though, I think.

How long does it take to get set up with Whale? We need something quick for onboarding new hires.

A Anna 2 months ago
The 14-day free trial is super helpful for this. You can get a feel for it and start documenting right away. The AI generator helps speed things up a lot.
3
R Rachel 2 months ago
It's pretty fast to get the basics going. Like, you can record a video of a process and it'll turn it into steps for you. For full integration and all your existing docs, it might take a bit longer depending on your volume, but the core features are quick to use.

Thinking of switching our team over to Whale, but wondering if there's any way to get a discount? Or do they ever do Black Friday stuff?

C Cleo Ito 1 month ago
Yeah, they usually have a Black Friday sale. I grabbed an annual plan last year during that time and saved a good chunk. Keep an eye out around then.
3
A Alex G. 1 month ago
They often give 20% off if you pay for a whole year up front. No promo codes though, it just applies automatically. There's also a free trial to check it out first, no credit card needed.

Hey, does Whale let you export your SOPs? I'm worried about being locked into a system.

B Brett Walsh 1 month ago
Yep, you can export them. I think it's a standard feature for most of these platforms. Never had an issue with that.
2
W Wendy 1 month ago
I believe so! Good question to ask though. Most modern knowledge bases allow some form of export, usually to PDF or sometimes even markdown. It's important for data portability.
